Info

My background in frontend development grounds my work in a solid understanding of the web.

I care about making digital experiences user-centered, accessible, privacy-respecting and sustainable.

1% of my annual turnover is donated to charity.

Ways we can work together

  1. For one-off short or medium-term projects, like marketing and documentation sites, we’ll set aside a period of time to collaborate on the project.

  2. If you’re looking for an external design partner on an ongoing basis, I can make myself available for an agreed number of hours each month.

  3. For less regular support, we can organise a time bank: buy a number of hours to use over a period we agree, then refill them as needed.

Dave is methodical in his approach and we had regular meetings which helped us as a team to keep on track.

Eight things to expect if we partner on a project

  1. Transparency, flexibility and honesty. I’ll be clear about what I can and can’t do, my rates and availability.

  2. Efficient design work. I think and design in components and modules, rather than pages. This is how developers think, and results in a flexible system to build your site.

  3. Thoughtfulness and care. I don’t secretly outsource work or pass it off to AI. Unless I tell you otherwise, the only person doing the work will be me.

  4. A commitment to limit my calendar to 2–3 concurrent projects. It serves no-one well if my attention is too divided.

  5. Accessibility considered at every stage. I’ll loop in developers early so we’re all on the same page and there are no surprises.

  6. A commitment to privacy-respecting approaches. This is a complex, evolving area, but I’ll work with you to think through privacy-conscious strategies.

  7. Access to my extensive network of trusted collaborators: developers, illustrators and copywriters. If needed, I can lead the team, too.

  8. I don’t pay kickbacks for work referrals. If I’ve been recommended to you, you can be confident that the referral is genuine and there’s no secret deal behind-the-scenes.

Since 2013, I’ve delivered over 200 digital projects, across a wide range of clients and sectors.
