Pairing sessions give you feedback on what’s missing
These days, people often use LLMs to augment their core skillset. Developers are being tasked with design work, and designers are asked to push code to production.
We all know that LLMs are over-confident and get things wrong. But it becomes increasingly difficult to know where the issues are as we move further from our domain of expertise.
These are the classic issues but rocket-fuelled:
Developers might know the design isn’t quite right, but can’t identify the issue
Designers won’t know if there are any drawbacks to the implementation, or if it’s robust
Sure, you can ask the LLM. But how do you know the answer is right, or if you’re even asking the right question?
This is where pairing sessions are useful. I can help you identify all sorts of issues that an LLM won’t pick up and ask the questions it will never ask.

Why me?
I’ve been working as a designer and developer since 2013. I’ve delivered over 200 digital projects and undertaken countless hours of professional development.
This background means I have a deep understanding of how the web works from both the design and development sides.
I take a holistic approach to building for the web, meaning I try to keep usability, implementation, accessibility, performance and privacy in mind. And I have a good understanding of trade-offs to different approaches, and the nuances that might nudge us towards one direction or another.
All this to say I can help developers understand why a design isn’t working, and help designers think about the constraints of designing for the web.

How it works
If you’re a designer or developer working freelance or in-house, you can book your first session for free with no commitment.
After that you can book another one. Or not. It’s up to you.
Subsequent sessions are £125 for an hour.
If you need to rearrange, please let me know at least 48 hours before our meeting and we’ll find another slot.
When you book, you can tell me about your project or the design problem you’re looking for support with.
You will also have the opportunity to share links to a Figma or Sketch project, too.
If this is a client project, I’d highly recommend duplicating the work onto a fresh board.
